Notices

1.     November 1 & 8 the Care Team will be collecting items to create care packages for our post secondary students. Bring treats and let them know of your support.

 

2.     The Christian Academics committee welcomes students enrolled or considering enrolling in Mennonite schools to apply for tuition assistance from our Spending Plan. This application is for school attendance during 2010, either the January - June term coming up,or the fall term beginning next September.  Remember, our congregation supports church schools and recognizes their importance in Christian education, preparing people for using their gifts in all areas of life and in the mission of the church.  Application forms and information regarding this financial aid are available from Susan Seyler, and must be returned by November 15th, latest. Please ask Susan at church, or call her at home.

 

3.     November is Family Violence Prevention Month . When we talk about family violence, we help to break the silence. Everyone in the community has a role to play in helping to prevent family violence. For information or support, call Karen at Wilmot Family Resource Centre at 519.662.2731 or at Wellesley Township Community Health Centre at 519.656.9028 ext 230.

6.     Working through a range of church partners, including the Mennonite Brethren in India, Mennonite Diakonial Services in Indonesia, and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Mennonite Central Committee is now committing $.75 million to respond to immediate and medium term needs. 7.     If you would like to receive a copy of the approved September 22, 2009 Vision Focus Team minutes, please contact the church office to have it e-mailed to you or pick up a hard copy from the table in the main hall.

 

8.     Are you between the ages of 18 and 25? Interested in Israel and Palestine? Join the Yella program May 9-30, 2010 to explore questions of Christian faith and life as you interact with Christians, Jews and Muslims, encounter complex peace and conflict issues, and consider the context for Jesus’ life and ministry. 10.  Last weekend Menno Valley Sound raised $4,100 in a benefit concert for MennoHomes .  Participants in last Sunday's Ride for Affordable Housing achieved $69,000 in cash and pledges. This leaves $81,000 still to be raised to meet the goal of $400,000. MennoHomes wishes to thank the band and the riders for their very significant efforts!

 

Last Sunday we offered $ 12,075.75 in worship to God.
