7:30 p.m. - Sing Fires of Justice Concert at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 54 Benton St., Kitchener. Conrad Grebel Chapel Choir, Wilfrid Laurier Chapel Choir, Laurier Singers and a community choir take part in a benefit concert for Interfaith Social Assistance Reform Coalition.

Congregation Finance Update

To meet our 2009 approved Spending Plan, $18,079 is needed per Sunday for the remainder of the year.  Please continue to be generous, as we need to consider our 2009 expenses and our commitments to the Debt Reduction Fund.  Thank-you.

Notices

 

1.     Bakers needed for Saturday, Oct. 31st   for a Mennonite Church Eastern Canada event which is being held here at the church. Funds raised from the muffins and cookies will go towards our mortgage reduction. Please sign the sheet on the table by the mailboxes.

 

2.     Cradle Roll – An Opportunity to Serve . If you have a passion for welcoming new babies into our congregation, have some time to organize nursery care during Sunday worship services and maintain toys and supplies in the nursery, the Christian Formation Team would love to hear from you. 3.     Young adults are looking for copies of the book Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. If you have a copy of the book and you are willing to lend it to a young adult for the next couple of months, please contact Brent Steinmann or Kevin Gingerich.

 

4.     The Alzheimer Society of Kitchener-Waterloo presents a four week education series designed for family and friends of individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias. All sessions are from 10 - 11:30 a.m. on Mondays from Oct. 26th to Nov. 16th. Meeting at Tri-County Mennonite Homes office, 224 Hamilton Rd. Registration required - call the Family Services Coordinator at 519.742.1422.

 

5.     CMU Offers Ancient Stones Study Tour.
